VERSION 2.1.0 · 27 SEPTEMBER 2026
A clearer view.
A smoother flow.
Clypt 2 brings a calmer interface and a more reliable clipboard workflow to your Mac. A free update for existing customers.
macOS 14 or later. Universal app for Apple Silicon and Intel. Open the disk image and drag Clypt to Applications, replacing your earlier version. Your existing encrypted history stays in place. You can also use Settings → General → Check for Updates.
New in 2.1: your desktop, softly in view
- Consistent frosted desktop backgrounds across Library, Settings, onboarding and floating panels. macOS Reduce Transparency gets a readable opaque fallback.
- A side-by-side Library inspector with larger image, text and color previews, source app, type, link metadata, timestamp and size. Grid view and bulk actions remain available.
- Optional hover access: Settings → General → Hover to open. Choose the top edge, Dock edge, or both. Rest the pointer at the center of that screen edge for a moment; a preview button lets you try the placement. Hover access is off by default and does not target individual Dock icons.
- Website icons refresh with your privacy setting. YouTube links can display the actual video thumbnail when you request a preview or enable automatic rich previews. Thumbnail requests may contact i.ytimg.com.
- Sensitive clip previews stay masked; delayed thumbnail results are discarded after a vault lock.
Copies transferred through Apple Universal Clipboard depend on macOS and your device setup. Clypt does not provide cross-device history sync or identify the original iPhone app.
Included from Clypt 2.0
A calmer companion
- Native frosted panels that blend with your desktop, with lime kept as a light accent.
- Real source-app icons instead of letter placeholders, with clear content symbols when an app is unavailable.
- A cleaner copy notification without the heavy outline.
- One launcher per shortcut, coordinated panels, and automatic dismissal when you click elsewhere.
- A new guided setup and an in-app introduction to this release.
A place for every copy
- Dedicated email and video categories alongside text, rich text, links, colors, images, SVG, screenshots, code, and files.
- Pinned, Today, Yesterday, and earlier history groups in the launcher.
- Search full text and source app names. Filters are applied before the result limit, so older matches remain discoverable.
- Multi-file copies keep their separate pasteboard items and original formats.
- Local file and video previews through Quick Look; missing originals fall back gracefully.
- Cleaner gallery cards with optional rich link images and titles. Choose Load preview on a link, or enable automatic previews in Privacy settings. Preview requests contact the destination website.
Stay on the keyboard
- ⌘⇧V: toggle the quick-paste launcher.
- ⌥⌘V: toggle the gallery.
- ↑ / ↓: select a clip. Return: paste.
- ⌘1–9: paste a visible result. ⌘P: pin or unpin.
- ⌘K: open actions. ⌘Y: preview. Escape: dismiss.
- Left / right: change category when the search is empty. Delete removes a selected clip when the search is empty; ⌘Delete works while searching.
Your history, your controls
- Optional clear-on-quit removes history and pins during normal shutdown, preserving snippets and collection names.
- Recovery-passphrase unlock is available in Settings → Security when the vault is locked.
- Locking clears visible cached history; pending results cannot repopulate a locked view.
- Vault-open and key-storage errors preserve existing history instead of silently replacing it.
- Optional website icons are off by default. If enabled, they contact only the copied HTTPS host for its icon.
File copies retain references to the originals; they are not file backups. Session cleanup cannot run after a crash or forced quit. Secret detection remains heuristic. Read the full privacy details.
The tools you already love
Collections, snippets, text transforms, clean URLs, JSON formatting, screenshots, color conversion, paste stacks, Maccy import, encrypted local storage, and signed updates remain part of Clypt.
Make Clypt better
Send an idea or bug report from Settings → General → Send feedback, or the website Feedback button. Your clipboard history is never attached automatically.
One small price
